Forearm Flexors: The Muscles Behind Your Grip
Grip something.
Your forearm just became interesting.
The flexor-pronator muscles help bend the wrist and fingers and rotate the forearm. They work during typing, massage, weight training, cooking, climbing, gardening and countless other activities.
Treatment may include broad compression followed by slower work along individual muscle groups as appropriate.
I can also incorporate gentle wrist and finger movement.
For clients whose hands are their livelihood, forearm massage can be especially valuable.
The goal isn’t simply softer tissue. It’s maintaining a useful relationship between strength, movement and recovery.
